Stop Crime on Your Computer: Ways to Prevent Online Identity Theft

Stop CrimeStop Crime - The internet is a great tool for business, entertainment, education, and more. However, there are people out there who take advantage of the internet and cause harm to many people. Identity theft is a huge problem in the world, and the internet is a gateway for hackers to steal your information.

However, there ways you can prevent this from happening. Try to limit the amount of transactions you do over the internet. Make sure the sites you are ordering from are safe and secure. Do not open any emails that suggest you should pay the government or tax agencies. Getting an email account that has a spam filter can help you block those types of emails. If the government is looking for you to pay them, they will contact you through letter, telephone, or in person.

Brave Few Trying To Stop Crime Of The Bush Administration

stop crimeYou wouldn't know it by watching ABC, CBS, NBC or any cable network news such as FOX, CNN, MSNBC and others but there are actually a few brave, unsung heroes out there, starting with Congressman Dennis Kucinich, to attempt to bring the articles of impeachment against the president and the vice president and stop crimes of the Bush administration. You can catch some of it on C-SPAN but mostly you can watch it on the ever reliable (for now) Interent.

As well as not getting any publicity about this thanks to the controlled media, Kucinich, Bruce Fein, Vincent Bugliosi and others are trying their hardest to get the truth out there despite continuously hitting brick walls put up by the Democratic leaders in charge of the hearings. Yes, you heard me right, democrats. It has been an unbelievable display of limited justice being allowed with rules and restrictions being applied to the people who are trying to testify, that is when they are not being continually cut off with what they are trying to say. Watch it if you can.

Does Banning Guns Stop Crime?

stop crimeIf you banned all guns in America would it help stop crime? No. Even our forefathers of this country like Benjamin Franklin highly opposed banning guns. Would some murders be prevented such as the Columbine school shooting? Maybe, but here's the thing...drugs are illegal and let me tell you, anybody can get drugs anytime. It would be the same for guns, the bad guys are going to get them no matter what and that will put you in a lot more danger. Just knowing that most people are not going to have a firearm in their house will increase burglary, rape and murder crimes across the nation. If you can't protect yourself then we are left completely vulnerable, and that can't happen, ever.

Internet Truth Movers - Aiming To Stop Crime?

stop crimeTheir is a growing movement on the Internet aiming to stop crime...crimes committed by large corporations and the government. What?! Infowars.com, loosechange911.com, prisonplanet.com, jonesreport.com, truthnews.us, wachadoo.com, disclosetv.com, patriotsaints.com, conspiracyplanet.com and many other web sites are debunking what we, the public, have been told about the events of 9/11. These Internet truth movers show plenty of video evidence, worldwide articles that are not censored by American media, news and information that you won't see on your television and a lot more.

Statistics say 1 in 4 Americans now believe that 9/11 was an inside job. Those beliefs are growing world wide with some high ranking Japanese officials and some British officials stating they are siding with the so called 'conspiracy theorists.' Check out some of these sites and you decide for yourself. Was it Osama bin Laden and the terrorists? Or not.

CSI Shows Spell Trouble For Those Trying To Stop Crime

stop crimeThose super sleuths on the fantasy TV CSI shows are causing all sorts of trouble for real life detectives. Real life crime fighters trying to solve and stop crime face serious pressure to 'get the case solved' just like they do on television. Some are even calling this the "CSI effect" with all the attention the shows have drawn to murder and crime investigations. While the pressure is on for law enforcement to solve crimes fast, there is one up side to all of this, the fact that enrollment in colleges is way up in crime lab classes with one college boasting 400 undergraduate students last year compared with just 4 in 1999.

Feds Want To Stop Crime Now With DNA

stop crimeThe Feds plan on collecting about 1 million DNA samples a year. Under a new program, Federal agents will collect cheek swabs from people who have been arrested for a federal crime or for non-citizens who have been obtained by the FBI. The whole process is to start building a massive data base that the local police departments can use to catch hardened criminals wanted for murder or rape. The database fed by federal law enforcement will be dispatched to all 50 states. It also means that some innocent people will have a higher chance of being fingered for a crime they did not commit since DNA is less certain when you have one sample pitted against all the other profiles in the database. You then could get something called 'cold hits' that could send an innocent person to jail.

Stop Crime Video - Effective Or Not?

Here is a video trying to effectively prove how bullets destroy and kill. Showing how bullets pierce and decimate ordinary things, your heart and breathing stops when you see the boy show up on screen. Is this video effective? Sure, it's scary when you think the bullet might hit the boy but that is not what we should be questioning.

What we should be questioning is if it is guns and bullets that kill people or people that kill people. Some people think guns are the utmost danger to humans. Others argue that it is criminals and crazies who are at fault. They say if you try to take away the guns from everyone the criminals will still get their hands on them. Then of course the average, good citizen will really be in danger. Or if guns are outlawed then the bad guys will find other means of killing. What do you think?

Funny Superbowl Ad Shows New Way To Stop Crime

Were you one of the 91 million people who watched the Superbowl in AZ this year? I'm an AZ native so let me tell you it was one huge non-stop party all over the valley. Security was tight and the police force were out in full force. Many, I am sure left AZ with the great souvenir of a DUI conviction, thanks to our tough drunk driving laws.

I have to admit I am not much into the game but I am into the commercials. While they offended some, I thought they were downright hilarious. This commercial from 2006 shows a great way to stop crime in today's technology age. Watch and enjoy.

Gun Control - Way To Stop Crime?

stop crimeHere is another big debate up for question today - gun control. There are plenty of pros and cons for both sides, question is...where do you stand?

Even the mention of this subject can cause heated debate so you better watch out who you bring it up to, which is why I am doing this from the safety of my computer. But to tell you the truth I stand somewhere in the middle.

I do not believe the government has the right to disarm any of us, not to mention this would be a violation of our constitutional rights and a project too enormous to ever undertake. But even if they could, should they?

Disarming the public at large is something that would only push an underground trade movement of all firearms - ones that are perfectly legal now. And it would only allow the criminals access to these weapons and not the general public. But I do believe that certain firearms should be banned.

Some believe that the police forces are simply not to stop crime but to be around to arrest indivduals after a crime has already been comitted. That is a whole other subject but should the automatic machine guns and hand guns that are simply designed to kill, be on the streets? No, they shouldn't, but unfortunately they are and often these criminals have more firearm power than the police officers.

I believe people kill people but I also believe that guns make it a hell of a lot more easier to do it.

Are Police Getting Too Agressive In Their Efforts To Stop Crime?

stop crimeWhat is going on with the police forces around the country? Lately it seems you cannot turn on a television news program without seeing some police officer in no particular state who has acted too aggressively. They are whipping out their stun guns and slamming people on cars using excessive force and slapping them with handcuffs. Often this extreme force is used seemingly on innocent or unthreatening individuals.

While we can say the police are facing more dangers these days than say decades ago and they are looking for new ways to stop crime, this behavior seems way out of line. Should these officers use more human skills and judgement to determine if these people who are just getting pulled over for inane things?

Like for instance the recent case in Utah where the office pulled over a very clean cut man who was driving with his wife and children and certainly did not seem inebriated, and acted as if he were a terrorist. When the driver questioned "What in the world is wrong with you?" to the officer, the officer reacted by stunning the man with his stun gun.

What is going on? Are officers trained to think of every US citizen is out to get them or a criminal? We know the officers need to defend themselves but something does need to change here as it seems to be getting way out of hand.

Do Youth Groups Stop Crime?

stop crimeThere seems to be a youth group popping up in every neighborhood, but do they really help stop crime? The government has pledged to curb teenage delinquency since young people are more and more likely to drink, do drugs, join gangs and get into fights.

Youth clubs are one solution to help prevent and stop crime among this age group. When children have nothing better to do than to get into trouble that is exactly what is going to happen. As the saying goes, "Idol hands are the devil's workshop."

Teens that just 'hang out' are more likely to look and ask for trouble, there is no doubt about it. By getting them involved in youth clubs, sports, group and structured activities they will undoubtedly develop more structured social skills, better emotional skills and a place to fit in. It is also a great place to meet new friends.

So far studies suggest youth groups do help stop crime.

How To Stop Crime In Your Community

how to stop crimeSafety comes in numbers and there are at least 10 things you can do in your community to stop crime.

Find out what your community needs and then you and others can team up to work with public agencies and other stop crime organizations that are neighborhood or community based to solve common problems. Next, focus on the youth of your community. Find positive ways they can spend their time either through recreational activities, tutoring, part-time work or community projects.

Patrol your own neighborhood with a neighborhood watch program. Make sure all streets and homes are well lighted. Work with the police and build a partnership with them. Safety works in numbers and you can organize group activities, rallies or marches to show the criminals you are serious.

Stop crime now by cleaning up your neighborhood. Get everyone involved to remove abandoned cars or fix up run down buildings. Work with local officials in how to get criminals out of your neighborhood buildings.

Support victims and witnesses of crime and form a court watch to help them. Make sure schools and parks in your area have strict gun and weapon laws and a curfew and then check to see if the laws are being enforced.

Lastly on how to stop crime in your neighborhood, put together a shared phone list with each others numbers as well as all emergency contacts, counseling, job training and other services.

New Reality Stop Crime Show

stop crime

This really is "reality" TV. Beau Maestas stuck a twelve-inch butcher knife into 2 helpless children after a drug sale gone bad with the girls' mother. The three-year-old was killed inside the blood-spilled family trailer; her ten-year-old sister was paralyzed when the knife severed her spinal cord.

Maestas is on trial facing the death penality.

Tonya Sue Baker sits in a lawyer's office, unable to understand why her adopted son would rather face the death penality than snitch on his fellow gang members in the murder of a nine-year-old girl caught in a crossfire.

"What's this honor shit?" she asks. "Ain't no honor in getting a death penalty for somebody else."

These horrific cases are happening in Clark County, Nev., home to Las Vegas and forty million annual tourists, seventy thousand criminal offenses, thousands of crystal meth-fueled crimes and almost three hundred gang-related shootings.

"Sin City Law," premiering Sept. 10, covers 4 cases; each gets a 2-part documentary treatment, with the episodes airing back to back on Mondays at nine pm and ten pm.

"Sin City Law" is another triumph for producers Denis Poncet and Jean-Xavier De Lestrade, winners of a 2005 Peabody Award for the 8-part Sundance Channel documentary "The Staircase" and an Oscar for the 2001 documentary "Murder on a Sunday Morning."

Poncet and De Lestrade, with director Remy Burkel, serve up a horrific tour of the Clark County legal system, introducing some of its darkest denizens along the way.

And it's compelling TV, here only through the first of October. Be aware that, thanks to "Sin City Law," what happens in Las Vegas no longer stays in Las Vegas. This is a great stop crime show.
