Searching Decades Old Crime Scene

crime sceneIs it worth the effort and resources to go back some 30 years to try and find bodies in the Panamint mountains at the old ranch where Charles Manson and his 'family' hid? I wonder what has sparked this sudden interest after so long to try and find bodies in the desert that may or may not be there. Have families of lost loved ones been begging law enforcement to excavate the area or is this just to drum up some new and fresh interest in the Manson case? If you ask me, it should be laid to rest, unless they have serious reasons to believe that there are bodies up there. Returning after decades to hunt for old graves in a remote and desolate part of the land seems ridiculous unless they have some new clues they are not telling us about.

Crime Scene Clean Ups

crime sceneEver wonder what happens at a crime scene after the police, fire department and crime scene investigators are finished inspecting? Well, that dirty job was left to the family of the victim until recently. There were very few cleaning companies that would be willing to clean that morbid mess.

But now there are crime scene cleaners, who charge a pretty penny, up to $600.00 dollars an hour, that will come in and not only tidy up but also disinfect the entire area. And these services are well worth it.

The service is called CTS Decon, standing for Crime and Truama Scene Decontamination and there is plenty of dangers and hazards that go along with the job. They are left to clean up and restore the place to its original state after a violent, accidental or suicidal death and even a methamphetamine lab or anthrax exposed site. This is one job you would not want to have.

New Manson Crime Scene?

crime sceneWill the Barker Ranch located west of Death Valley National Park become a new Manson family crime scene? The ranch is where a paranoid Charles Manson and his gang of followers holed up after the bloody Tate/LaBianca murder spree in Los Angeles in 1969.

Today the ranch is abandoned and sits in a barren wilderness where few ventured then or today. But forsenic investigators did go out there recently to conduct experiments looking for more victims of the Manson family that would have occured more than 40 years ago.

The preliminary results of these tests have determined that there could be bodies lying beneath the parched ground. For years there have been rumors that there were many more victims than initially thought and the next step then would be to dig.

crime scene photosFor those who aren't faint of heart check out Crime Scene Virtual Tour on the Web, or CSVT, for that up close and personal invite into a crime scene.
At Crime Scene Virtual Tour you access a crime scene from any angle and get an overall idea of the place and what happened there. At CSVT you can zoom or pan, tilt and rotate the entire scene and make your own observations as to what happened and how. It will be just as good as if you were actually there and these crime scene photos could be the key evidence that convinces a jury.

CSVT is breaking the limitations and enabling people and law enforcement personal to navigate around the scene like never before without actually having to be there. This won't be like viewing crime scene photos through other peoples lenses since you have all the control of where you want to be in the room and how close you want to view it. The interactive map at CSVT is a helpful tool as well as crime scene sketching beside the images. With all this you can examine every piece of evidence up close.
